Laurie Okum has been a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 1996. She earned her master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University. Her expertise has ranged from adults and children across a wide range of settings from middle schools to rape treatment centers. She has maintained a private practice for over 28 years and has trained at institutions such as Cedar Sinai Hospital, UCLA, and the Maple Counseling Center. Additionally, Laurie has been deeply involved in the Beverly Hills school community for more than 20 years.
These long-standing involvements have enriched her understanding of family dynamics across developmental stages. From the beginning stages of new mothers and adjusting families to include siblings to individuals navigating major life changes such as empty nesting and caring for aging parents, Laurie is willing and able to support you through it all.
With a deep respect for the complexity and uniqueness of each individual, Laurie is dedicated to helping clients recognize their inherent strengths, develop self-awareness, and approach life's challenges with confidence and authenticity. She believes that being one's most genuine self is essential to meaningful growth and encourages her clients to do the same.
